Supporting Startups in Northern Virginia

Earlier this week, I joined Christina Winn, head of the Prince William County (VA) Department of Economic Development, at a hearing with the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.  Our purpose was to share Prince William County’s new Small Business Roadmap, a new analysis developed by EntreWorks Consulting and Camoin Associates.  The study was designed to help County leaders refine and strengthen their economic development programs focused on small business development, especially on the County’s growing base of minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses.

Prince William County is a thriving and dynamic place, and is among the top ten most diverse counties in the US.  Its business base reflects these trends, and the County is seeing a boom in new business startups.  The County has strong programs in place, supported by a new and active Advisory Group of local entrepreneurs.  With this new plan in place, the County will introduce new programs, enhance existing efforts, and build a more resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem.
