As November gets going, most people are eating leftover Halloween candy and thinking about their Thanksgiving plans. For me, I’m getting ready for Global Entrepreneurship Week, which runs from November 13-19, 2023. This is a huge event that has been operating since 2008. This year, planners expect to engage more than ten million people in more than 40,000 events and activities occurring in more than 200 countries.
You can learn more about various global flavors of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) here. Here in the US, lots of places are using GEW as an opportunity to spread the word about the important role that entrepreneurs play in creating jobs, nurturing innovation, and building communities. Here are a few that I plan to check out:
- GEW Kansas City: As home to the Kauffman Foundation, KC always embraces GEW In a big way, with dozens of events ready to roll.
- Indiana: The state of Indiana is also hosting dozens of GEW events, highlighting many great initiatives as well as Indianapolis’ hosting of the next Global Entrepreneurship Congress in June 2025.
- GEW Penn State: Penn State University is sponsoring GEW events across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and at all of the PSU’s campus locations.
- SOVA RISE: In Southern Virginia, the SOVA RISE Collaborative is hosting a series of meetups and trainings to help promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Southside Virginia.
Hope to see you virtually or in-person at a future GEW event.
