Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell has declared 2012 to be Virginia’s Year of the Entrepreneur. Because the Governor has been locked in tough budget negotiations with the Legislature, it’s been a slow year so far. But, things seem to picking up with lots of interesting events in the coming months. Next week, state leaders will be visiting Lynchburg, VA to meet with the Region 2000 Partnership (an EntreWorks Consulting client) and other local leaders to discuss entrepreneurship opportunities in Central Virigina. If you’re interested in participating, you can learn more here. Other interesting events are on the horizon as well, including the Jefferson Innovation Summit (in Charlottesville in September) and a statewide business plan competition. You can access the current schedule here.
