The next few weeks are something of a summer speaking tour for me. This coming Monday, July 22, I’ll be speaking on “Building an Innovative Region for the Long Haul” at the annual meeting of the Community Development Society in Charleston, SC. That talk is certain to be followed by the consumption of shrimp and grits in beautiful downtown Charleston. On August 1, I’ll be continuing a regular tradition of teaching in North Carolina’s Basic Economic Development Course at the UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Government. (Continuing the food theme, Carolina BBQ??)
On August 9, I’ll be up in Portsmouth, NH, speaking to New England-based grantees of the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities program. (Lobster!!!) Jumping ahead to September, I’ll be an instructor in the International Economic Development Council’s Small Business and Entrepreneurial Development training course in Baltimore on September 12. (Crabs!!!) Hope to see you on the road!
