Regional Analysis Tools: Training Opportunities Ahead

If you’re interested in learning about the latest tools and techniques for analyzing and understanding your regional economy, you might check out an upcoming training program sponsored by the Council for Community Economic Research and the Labor Market Training Institute.    The training session, Regional Analysis Tools and Techniques, will be held in Arlington VA during the week of September 12th, 2011.   The sessions provide introductions to lots of analytical tools and data sources to help you, among other things, understand industry clusters, benchmark your region’s economic performance, and evaluate the impact of key program investments.  I’ll be teaching two modules of the training—on regional benchmarking (with Graham Toft of GrowthEconomics) and on program evaluation (with Henry Renski of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst).  You can access the full agenda and registration details here.  Hope to see you there.
