EntreWorks Consulting is part of a team, along with Policy One Research and Scruggs & Associates, that produces an annual evaluation of science and technology investments made by the state of Maine. Maine’s political leaders decided about ten years ago that the state needed to get serious about investing in innovation. This was a good idea and these investments are paying dividends. Mainers pride themselves on being prudent stewards of public dollars, so they also created a system to regularly track the impact of these investments. That’s where our annual evaluations fit in. The 2010 evaluation reports were released in Augusta this week at a hearing before Maine Legislature’s Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Commitee. You can read about the hearing here, and can access the reports here. Look for future posts on some of the more interesting aspects of our findings.
